Adjunct Professor Part Time (Media Department) Needed!

The Media Department at Valor Christian College, seeks a qualified adjunct for a part-time associate level teaching position in the area of Media, TV Studio Production and Audio and Light Production. Successful candidates will be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a courteous and Christ-like attitude; and agree to adhere to the standards of moral conduct and mission, vision, and values of Valor Christian College and World Harvest Church.

The person selected for this position must have earned a BFA or MFA in Digital Communications, Design, or a related field. This faculty member must be versed in standard media requirements in order to teach undergraduate students entry level digital media skills (audio, video, and TV production) while also challenging students intellectually and conceptually.

Applicants with experience at institutions focused on the liberal arts and with prior professional and college level teaching and media services experience, as well as those with knowledge of relevant interactive design fields are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Skills or Software:

Bursar/Finance Manager

The Bursar/Finance Manager works both independently and as an integral part of a team to ensure compliance with the college, state, and federal regulations and standard accounting procedures. He/she will work with colleagues to develop effective polices and operational guidelines to meet the needs of stakeholders and program requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the financial program for Valor Christian College and communicate with the Financial Aid department to administer federal state, veterans, and institutional financial aid funds and services.
  • Review program billing and associated paperwork, revise policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations and college policies related to financial aid and scholarships.
  • Supervise personnel in accordance with college policies and applicable laws.
  • Offer a high level of service communicating with students regarding all aspects of their payments/balances/refunds/funding as needed; handle delinquent accounts as prescribed by the college.
  • Recommend financial aid opportunities, academic progress, eligibility and procedures.
  • Process checks and credit card payments for deposit from students, parents or miscellaneous agencies on a daily basis, post daily, all student payments from all sources.
  • Calculate any refunds/stipends owed to students and process/communicate accordingly; return Title IV funds when necessary via G5 website.
  • Prepare Financial Aid and Student Account reports to monitor Accounts Receivable.
  • Calculate Tuition Liability and communicate to students.
  • Create reports to provide information to issue the annual 1098-T Student Tax Form.
  • Work with the Business Manager/CFO to ensure accurate and timely exchange of information and awards between school information systems.
  • Maintain research and submit information regarding budget as needed.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between respective college departments as they relate to the Financial Office’s role in creating a positive educational experience for students.
  • Lead staff meetings, share information as appropriate, promote the development of ideas for improved service and efficiency, and encourage teamwork.
  • Integrate efforts to maximize Financial Office’s role in recruiting and retention.
  • Approve payroll work authorizations for all department staff.
  • Maintain current knowledge of college financial policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Attend trainings/conferences as necessary to keep knowledge current.
  • The student financial services will include fee assessment, tuition collection/application, accounts receivable, and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree; 4 years of financial aid experience; previous supervisory experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree and four years related experience; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
  • Certificate of Completion of Fundamentals of Title IV Administration Required and a broad knowledge of federal financial aid programs and record keeping requirements.
  • Knowledge of higher education processes, supervisory and personnel practices, communication techniques and computer software.
  • General knowledge of accounting practices, data processing and computer applications.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and to work independently to meet deadlines.
Professor of Music/Department Chair of Music Ministries Program

The Music Professor/Department Chair is responsible for overseeing the college’s Music Ministries degree program and providing instruction for various music classes.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruct courses in music theory, musicianship skills, music ministry, music history, class piano, class voice, choir, conducting and related subjects.
  • Advise music ministry students on course selection and academic matters.
  • Refine and develop the music ministries curriculum to meet the college’s growing needs.
  • Serve on academic and advisory committees as appointed by the VP of Academic Affairs.
  • Assist with accreditation issues as needed.
  • Assist and support the Valor Christian College chapel music ministry.
  • Advise on hiring and supervise adjunct music faculty.
  • Review of all assessment projects for the music department.
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP of Academic Affairs.
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Music or related field.
  • 3-5 years of music ministry experience in a Pentecostal/Charismatic setting.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience on an undergraduate level.
