Adjunct Professor – English Composition
Valor Christian College, The School of the Spirit, is seeking candidates for an Adjunct faculty opportunity in the subject area of English Composition.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and work effectively with college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including students with disabilities.
  • Prepare and support students to enable them to transition from developmental to college-credit course work and to continue academic success;
  • Teach the assigned class in accordance with learning objectives outlined in the academic catalog.
  • Select and compile tests including diagnostic testing, assignments and other relevant means that permit measurement of performance relative to standardized learning objectives.
  • Review textbook and other courseware, recommend changes with the academic chair and other full-time faculty teaching the course.
  • Administer evaluations of student performance based on course syllabus and course rubrics.
  • Post grades in Populi system according to established deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate student course attendance records per the attendance policy and post daily.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Master’s Degree in English and possess the academic training and experience.
  • Demonstrate competency to teach in the appointed field.
  • A personal devotion to Christ evidenced by a godly life and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Adjunct Professor – Literature
Valor Christian College, The School of the Spirit, is seeking candidates for an Adjunct faculty opportunity in the subject area of Literature. We will consider expertise in the following types of Literature; American, African American, Children’s, Colonial, English, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the analysis, evaluation and discussion of literature - including novels, short stories, essays, poetry and drama.
  • Communicate and work effectively with college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including students with disabilities.

Department Chair, General Studies - Valor Christian College
Valor Christian College invites applications for the position of Department Chair for General Studies. The Chair will coordinate general studies course offerings in a variety of disciplines such as English, Mathematics, Communications, Humanities, and Social Science. The Chair provides leadership and must evidence commitment to innovative and relevant education for students. Responsibilities include collaboration and consultation with faculty team to promote maximum commitment and results; maintaining high standards of teaching, scholarship, and service; organizing student advising procedures; organizing faculty teaching loads; assisting with class schedules; developing and maintaining collaborations with other faculty; assisting with planning and assessment; and representing the program in the community at large. The Chair will provide instruction for courses each semester.

Candidates must evidence the following:
  • Master’s degree in English, Mathematics, Communication, Humanities or Social Science
  • Excellence in postsecondary teaching and administration;
  • Curriculum development experience;
  • Experience with planning, assessment, and evaluation processes.
